The kitchen measure or measuring cup is used to portion cooking and baking ingredients such as flour, sugar, milk, water and other cold or hot liquids. Two scales on the inside of the kitchen measure or measuring cup show one liter in centilitre jumps or in 1/4 or 1/8 liter (depending on the size of the kitchen measure), this is the traditional Austrian unit of measurement for liquids.
The measuring cup has a comfortable side handle as well as a spout, called a beak, which makes it easy to pour out liquids. The edge of the kitchen measure is curved - in the enamel language this is called a beaded edge.
The material enamel consists of iron that has been fused with glass at high temperatures, i.e. from natural raw materials.

Tip:
The enamel measuring cup can be used to heat precisely measured liquids such as milk (or water) for the yeast dough or soup for risotto. However, it should be cooked on a low flame because the diameter of the base is very small. When heating milk, add some water beforehand to prevent burning.
